Hikayat Merong Mahawangsa or The Kedah Annals is an ancient Malay literature that chronicles the bloodline of Merong Mahawangsa and the foundation of the Kedah, a state in Malaysia. Though there are historical accuracies, there are many incredible assertions. The era covered by the text ranged from the opening of Kedah by Merong Mahawangsa, allegedly a descendant of Alexander the Great of Macedonia till the acceptance of Islam. 

Merong Mahawangsa was a Hindu and there were nine Hindu rulers before Phra Ong Mahawangsa converted to Islam in 1136 and took the name Sultan Mudzafar Shah. The annal also describes Chola's attack on Kedah.The descendants of Phra Ong Mahawangsa is still ruling Kedah able to trace their lineage from Merong Mahawangsa. (source : wikipedia)

KRU Studios has completed the production of its feature film entitled "Hikayat Merong Mahawangsa", which is also internationally known as "The Malay Chronicles : Bloodlines". This epic action adventure is directed by Yusry A. Halim.

Naaah, finally the movie hit the cinema today. Personally I am very looking forward and thrilled to watch the movie. But I am going to wait till next week because I am sure (really sure) that the cinema will jam-packed!! I am nervous but cannot wait what the papers will say tomorrow about the movie (hahaha). The trailer alone can make my jaw dropped, so I hope the movie can make everyone said WOW! 

Frankly speaking, I am so proud of this big budget movie made by the KRU's because it proves Malaysia Boleh! I read on the internet that the movie doesn't  aired yet but already 'balik modal'. RM8 million is not a small amount! How can you argue the fact, 72 countries already booked and agreed to aired the movie. Speaking about quality combines with international marketing strategy, that's how they managed to get the capital although the movie had not aired yet.

This film is about a dog that believes his friend is in grave danger. What he does not know is that he is the star of a reality TV show.

Who would have thought Bolt would be so thrilling and entertaining! The opening action sequence is rushed with adrenaline, it excites me even though it is an animation! The plot is intelligent, interesting and fun, the great thing is that it entertains without the need of any toilet or gross out humour. The super-bark and laser eye scenes are so hilarious, in a cute and mesmerising way. In addition, the transition of Bolt from being a super dog to realising he he has no powers is very well presented, that it makes me feel sad for Bolt. The animation is flawless, and all the characters in the animation are super cute. I thoroughly enjoyed every minute of Bolt, I think it makes perfect family entertainment. 

Have you watch this movie? I love and enjoy it very much! Maybe it is just a cartoon character but I learn a lot from it. Friendship for example...When a friendship test to the limit, true friend will never leave you behind no matter what. Just like Rhino (the hamster) said "If Bolt's taught me anything, it's that you never abandon a friend at a time of need!"  

Bolt was the main character in this movie but my favorite was the fully~awesome~Rhino. He worshiped Bolt (hahaha), very energetic and not afraid of anything.

  

I am not sure if the DVD still available in the store because the movie was released 2 years ago. But if you want to see it and cannot find the DVD anymore, try You Tube...hehe
