Form Five Girl Jumps To Her Death

MALACCA: A Form Five student at SMK Seri Kota, Banda Hilir here, jumped to her death in front of horrified teachers and schoolmates yesterday morning.

Sally Lee Qian Chun, 17, from Bukit Katil here, was attending her Chemistry lessons on the first floor of the school's Block C when she rushed out of the classroom.

A senior teacher, who declined to be identified, said Lee then ran up to the second floor and climbed onto a ledge.

"She stood on the ledge facing a classroom and then fell backwards," said the teacher.
The 9.15am incident saw teachers and students screaming in horror. It was also witnessed by students from another block.

"Many of us saw it happening but no one could do anything as it happened so quickly."

Lee was a Science Stream student and did not have any problems in school.

"She was a good student."

Lee, the eldest of three children, had posted on her Facebook page that the recent Chinese New Year celebrations would be her last.

She made that posting using her profile name, "Saline Lee Chun", on Jan 15, which received a reply asking why she had said that.

"You will know after the Chinese New Year," she had replied.

In an earlier post dated Jan 11, the victim had expressed her sadness when a person she loved did not feel the same towards her.

Melaka Tengah district police chief Assistant Commissioner Salehhudin Abd Rahman ruled out foul play and said the victim died from serious head injuries.

Chief Minister Datuk Seri Mohd Ali Rustam, who visited the school and the victim's family yesterday, expressed his condolences and said the state government would bear the cost of her funeral.

Lee's father is said to be a businessman while her mother is a housewife. She has two younger brothers.

What is going on with our teenagers today? Taking your own life when your love is not return? What about the people around you - families, friends or relatives who loves you unconditionally? Have you ever think about their feeling when you taking such action?

This is a message to all of us. We must do something. Teenagers out there...PLEASE. If you have a problem talk to your family, teachers, friends or someone you can trust before it's too late. Think before you do something. Do you want to leave behind peoples that loves you unconditionally devastated?

PS : Sigh

Season In The Sun :)

Remember last Friday I told you about the birthday party invitation?
This is where the party took place...

I don’t know where she got the idea to celebrate her birthday here but I guess she read my entry about Sungai Pikot…hahaha
We had so much fun that day and most important thing, we have barbecue near the river :)
BUT next time, we better cook the meal at home before bringing it because it took 45 minutes to set the fire…hahahaha
If it’s not for me (laugh out loud), all of us will went home with a sour face (laughing again)

To set the fire is one thing and waiting for the meal was another thing. The birthday girl bring 4kg chicken wings, can you believe that?! And there are only 13 people to finish it. Not to mention hotdogs, prawns….burrrrrrrp! Seriously, this is the best birthday party I’ve ever attend. Also, our first time singing birthday song at the river…hahahaha

Finally, the ‘mintolop’ session…or should I say the main program of the day. hahahaha…
OMG! All of us acting like a school children, playing in the water like we never been there. What a day to spend the holiday. We were so tired by the end of the day but who cares? We had joy, we had fun and we had season in the sun…that’s all that matters to us :)

Gotong Royong

Gotong royong means working together on something without asking for anything in return.

Last week, I joined a gotong royong organized by Chapel Our Lady Star Of The Sea committee. The goal was to clear the inside out of the new chapel. The activity got a positive respond both from the elderly and the youth. It is good to have the youth taking part in this activity, so they can learn and carry out the culture in the future.

We start at 8am. One of the benefits you can gain from gotong royong is you can finish the work more quickly because there are many people work together on it. Besides, you will not feel tired because you share the work. The most important thing is, during gotong royong we will able to get closer to each other so we can build a better community.

We finish at 1pm. I really like this part…hahaha. We had lunch together. There were a lot of foods on the table because each family brings their own. For me, sharing the meal is like a mutual connection with each other. It doesn’t matter what kind of food you bring, only eat, share and give thanks for what we have.

I am glad (proud actually…hehe) that this culture still exists in our modern era and hopefully the citizen will practice this culture continuously.

How about you, have you ever join a gotong royong? What kind of experience you gained from it?

100,000 Signatures

Time is running out for Yong Vui Kong, 22 year old from Sandakan charged with drug trafficking in Singapore.

The last date for him to file his clemency is August 26 and Sandakan Coordinator of the Give Yong Vui Kong A Second Chance campaign hopes to gather 100,000 signatures to be presented to the island republic's President.

Maybe he deserved that second chance because of his difficult childhood and lack of guidance from young and ignorance of the law.  Too young to received such punishment, why not sentence him to life imprisonment? That is more acceptable. Forgive me, that is only my opinion.
