Three Weeks To Say Goodbye

Author : C. J. Box
ISBN : 978-0312365721

Jack and Melissa McGuane have spent years trying to have a baby. Finally their dream has come true with the adoption of their daughter, Angelina. But nine months after bringing her home, they receive a devastating phone call from the adoption agency: Angelina’s birth father, a teenager, never signed away his parental rights, and he wants her back. Worse, his father, a powerful Denver judge, wants him to own up to this responsibility and will use every advantage his position of power affords him to make sure it happens. When Jack and Melissa attempt to handle the situation rationally by meeting face-to-face with the father and son, it is immediately apparent that there’s something sinister about both of them and that love for Angelina is not the motivation for their actions.

As Angelina’s safety hangs in the balance, Jack and Melissa will stop at nothing to protect their child. A horrifying game of intimidation and double crosses begins that quickly becomes a death spiral where absolutely no one is safe.

How far would you go to save someone you love?

Just finish reading this book. If you like Thriller or Suspense, this one is for you. Fast pacing, well developed suspense and very convincing plot. I get hooked from the first page till the last, in another words this book was impossible to put down.

The story is about Jack and Melissa who couldn't have their own baby so they adopt one. At first everything seem to be perfect because they tought all documentations has been done. Suddenly, the biological father came into the spotlight and want his baby back. Worse, his father is the powerful judge and of course will use his power to make sure it happens.

But soon, it becomes clear that there is something sinister about their motivations. So Jack and Melissa do everything they can and will stop at nothing to protect their child.

You know, kids are always fascinate me. They have something that makes you want to be their champion. You want to hear them laugh and it is always fun just to hear their chatters on nothing. So I really don't understand why something like child abuse or baby dumping exist.

In the story, Angeline is only an adopt child. Yet Jack and Melissa treat her like their own and fight with their life for Angelina. How about you, are you willing to risk your life to save someone you love?

This is the first book I read from C. J. Box, they said first impression is very important. Thats right, C.J Box did impress me. Next time I shop for books, the author will be on my list.
